The Macotta Club
The Macotta Club is a 24-month program in Lansing, Michigan for culinary start-ups to establish a foundation for their business before expanding to a broader market. Named after the "Maul Macotta"-style concrete bricks that make up the exterior of the historic Knapps Building, the Macotta Club brand aims pay homage to Lansing's past and welcome it's future.
The Knapps building one of the most iconic Art Deco landmarks in the Lansing area, and I wanted The Macotta Club's brand identity to reflect that era. The logotype is hand-lettered typography inspired by a collection of advertisements and packaging from the 1930's.
